Woman Sees Strange Marks On Her Dog’s Body, Gets Terrified At What They Actually Are
They say dogs are man’s best friend, and no one who’s ever befriended a canine would argue with that. Apart from the fact that they can be very adorable, it’s scientifically proven that these furry creatures can make life so much better for humans. Hence why so many dog owners treat their pets like family.
Nobody would be happy if anything sinister happened to their beloved pet. In the case of Hayden Howard of Seymour, Indiana, she struggled hard to remain calm after she discovered something strange about her English Mastiff, Jackson. Jackson seemed fine that day until she started noticing marks on his body that were never there.
Choosing A Companion
Dogs are more than just cute-looking furry creatures that wag their tails when excited. There’s a lot they can be helpful in—guarding against threats, assisting with tasks, and so on. The list is long, but their most treasured value is companionship.
It was for this reason, Hayden Howard thought she should get herself a four-legged pet. She felt having a dog around would make things livelier. They could go for walks, and he could keep her young son company as well. After chancing upon a lovely English Mastiff puppy, Howard knew she had found the perfect friend.
The Frightening Discovery
Owning a dog was everything the Howard family thought it would be. Jackson was loyal and fun to be around. It’s proven that dogs don’t just stick around for food. They develop unique feelings for their owners and can be said to “love” them as a result.

Howard’s family continued to receive this unconditional love from their English Mastiff, and everything seemed to be going fine until that fateful day. As she pulled her pet closer for a warm snuggle, she couldn’t help spotting the strange markings that were all over his body. Immediately she felt alarmed, but little did she know that was only just the beginning.
A Life Of Love and Devotion
Looking into Jackson’s history with Howard and her family would make you understand why something like strange spots would bother her so much. After all, dogs occasionally develop spot-causing allergies or illnesses like hot spots, ringworm, or tick bites.

But in Jackson’s case, however, he had been treated as a member of the family since the day he was taken in. He had been given the best animal care and attention any dog could need, so it would be strange for him to develop weird diseases or allergies. The whole family adored his company, and they never hesitated in making him know this.
Reaching Maturity
English Mastiffs grow at an incredible pace, and many of them can reach double their size in just three months! Jackson was no exception, and Howard couldn’t help but be amazed at how her pup was getting big so quickly.

She wouldn’t have been if she knew what was coming—Mastiffs can grow to weigh as much as 200 pounds, and they don’t stop growing until they’re five years old! His rapidly increasing size meant Jackson developed quite the appetite, but his doting owners were all too happy to deliver his needs.
The First Signs
That day, Hayden Howard got home to discover something was terribly wrong with her dog. At first, it seemed to be like any other day. After working hours, they spent the day lazing around and catching up on their favorite TV series.

As he was wont to do, Jackson hopped on the couch to get a dose of affectionate pets from Howard, and she gladly obliged. She turned him over to give him a good belly rub, and that was when she discovered something was amiss. Somewhere on his belly area was what seemed to be a strange mark. What it was exactly, she couldn’t tell yet.
